It all began with an algorithm: in November 2019 Hinge matched Summer’s bright‑smiled photo in a yellow sweater with Damian’s easy grin. Messages flew for six weeks until Summer finally asked, “So, are we ever meeting?”

They did—on Damian’s 28th birthday, January 11 2020. A balmy 60°F winter afternoon in Central Park turned into hours of walking, bubble‑tea bartering (his tart drink for her matcha latte), and a quick stop at the Guggenheim gift shop. Two Saturdays later, under twinkling holiday lights, Damian asked Summer to be his girlfriend.

Then the world paused. Lockdowns meant banana‑bread experiments, DIY projects, endless road trips, and picnics from city parks to Jersey beaches. Through quarantines, family barbecues, and meet‑ups halfway with Summer’s parents in Philly, their easygoing partnership only grew stronger.

Since then they’ve met each other’s families, explored new countries, and collected memories that feel both effortless and extraordinary. Five years after that first swipe, they’ll celebrate their anniversary—January 25 2025—by saying “I do” in beautiful Costa Rica. They can’t wait to share the next chapter with you!
